John H. "Jack" Burbage, Jr., Chair
Jack Burbage is a resident of Berlin, MD, and co-owner of Blue Water Development Company. The Stephen Decatur High School graduate has deep roots in the community and is a member of the Lions Club, the Economic Development Corporation and Maryland Coastal Bays. He also sits on the Board of Directors of Taylor Bank and is a member of the Maryland Builders and the Maryland Bankers Association. He has two sons and two grandsons.

Lou Taylor, Vice Chair
Lou Taylor is the principal of Stephen Decatur High School, the Bishopville native’s alma mater. He sits on the Worcester County Board of Zoning Appeals, the Atlantic General Hospital Corporate Board, the hospital’s Planning Committee, and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. He is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the board of directors of Hudson Health Services and is a lifetime member of the Friendship United Methodist Church in Berlin. Lou is a graduate of Salisbury University, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. “I have a deep concern for good healthcare in Worcester County,” he said. “I am extremely honored to have been asked to serve on the Board of Directors of Atlantic General Hospital and give back to a community that I am proud of and that has given so much to me during my lifetime.” Lou loves to golf and is a season ticket holder for the University of Maryland College Park basketball and football. |

William C. Hudson, Secretary
William Hudson, an attorney whose office is located in his hometown of Pocomoke, serves on the Board of Governors for the Maryland State Bar Association and practices in the state and federal courts in Maryland and Virginia. He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Maryland Trial Lawyers Association and Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and a fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation. He serves on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the First Judicial Circuit and on the Maryland Court of Appeals Commission on Professionalism. He is active in the local community, serving as a director on the boards of several non-profit organizations and as a mediator for the Circuit Court for Worcester County. A graduate of Pocomoke High School, Salisbury University (BA), University of Maryland School of Law (JD) and the Graduate Institute at St. Johns College in Annapolis (MA), he finds serving on Atlantic General Hospital’s Board of Directors a good opportunity to give back to the community. “With the aging of the population and the increasing year-round population in the county, we need AGH to grow and prosper,” Hudson said. Hudson lives in Berlin with his wife, Kristy, and their three daughters, Elizabeth, Mary Alex, and Caroline. |

James “J.” R. Bergey, Jr., CPA, Treasurer
J. Bergey is a Certified Public Accountant and President of Bergey & Company P.A. in Berlin. He provides accounting and tax services, trust, guardianship and receivership services and consulting in business, personal, tax, estate planning and real estate development. J. is a member of the Board of Directors of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company, the Waterman’s Trust and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. J. started work on planning the Hospital in the late 1980’s. He was a member of the first Board of Directors , the first Hospital Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee. He helped formulate and direct the financing and construction of the Hospital. J. resides on South Point with his wife Betsy. |

J. Russell Barrett
Russ Barrett is president and co-owner of Barrett Chevrolet, Inc. in Berlin. He is active in the community, having served as president of the Berlin Lions Club, Anchor Society Chairman for the United Way of the Eastern Shore, and board member of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Karen, have one daughter, Jamie. They reside in Berlin. |

Thomas D. Beck, Jr., D.O.
Vice Cheif of Staff
Dr. Beck is an Orthopaedic Surgeon on staff at Atlantic General Hospital. Prior to joining Atlantic Orthopaedics in Berlin, Md., Dr. Beck was in private practice in Philadelphia, Pa. for almost four years. Dr. Beck completed Medical School, Internship and Orthopaedic Residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery and Joint Replacement at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Beck has written and published numerous papers and lectures on a variety of topics. Dr. Beck is currently the Vice Chief of Staff and Director of the Center for Joint Surgery at Atlantic General Hospital. |

Eric Bontempo, D.O.
Cheif of Staff - Dr. Eric Bontempo is an orthopedic surgeon with Atlantic Orthopaedics in Berlin and Ocean View. A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his internship at Suburban General Hospital in Norristown, Pa., and his residency at the Osteopathic Medical Center of Philadelphia. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. |

Winn Booth
Winn Booth is the president of PKS Investment Advisors LLC, a financial planning and investment advisory firm with offices in Salisbury and Ocean City. Winn is also involved in other community and civic affairs serving as the treasurer for the Ocean City Parrot Head Club and for the Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Youth Foundation. His involvement with Atlantic General Hospital also includes chairing the Planned Giving Committee of the AGH Foundation Board and serving on the Finance and Investment Committees of the Board of Directors. Winn resides in Ocean Pines with his wife Janet. |

Kathy Clark
Kathy Clark works with Monogram Building and Design, where she serves as vice president. She serves on the board of directors for the Bank of Ocean City and is a past treasurer for Habitat for Humanity. Kathy is also a real estate broker. She resides in Ocean City, Md., with her husband, Mark. |

Hugh Cropper, IV
Hugh Cropper, IV is the descendant of a long line of Worcester County natives. He holds dear the best interests of Berlin and the surrounding areas. As an attorney, he provides pro bono services to several civic organizations including the Maryland Coastal Bays Foundation, Inc. and Habitat for Humanity. Hugh also sits on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Ocean City and is a member of the Ocean City Marlin Club. He lives with his wife, J.L., and his twin son and daughter in Ocean City. |

Robert Davis, M.D.
Robert J. Davis, M.D., has been in practice for more than twenty-three years. He is a former chief of staff of Atlantic General Hospital, and has held the position of chief of plastic surgery at both Atlantic General and Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.
Davis is a graduate of the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine and is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery. |

Robert Durkin, D.O.
Dr. Robert Durkin was a member of the hospital’s medical staff for 12 years, serving as medical director of
pulmonary and critical care and as the chief of staff from 2004 to 2005. Dr. Durkin is a member of the American
College of Chest Physicians and the Society of Critical Care. He resides in Ocean City with his wife, Kim, and his two children, Mike and Matthew. |

Michael A. Franklin
Michael Franklin, FACHE, joined Atlantic General Hospital and Health System as President and CEO in October 2005. Mr. Franklin has guided the leadership team at AGH through the process of establishing a unique, cyclical strategic planning process that incorporates the input of all the key stakeholders of the hospital and health system (physicians, associates, community). This “customer-based” focus has led to the successful development of programs such as the “ER 30 Minute Promise”. Prior to coming to Atlantic General Hospital, Michael served as the Chief Operating Officer of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD, and has served in healthcare management for over 20 years. Michael is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University – Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He currently lives in Worcester County with his wife, Marianne, and their two children. |

Debbie Goeller
Ms. Goeller has been the Health Officer for Worcester County Health Department for the past seventeen (17) years. It is her responsibility to determine the public health needs and problems of Worcester County, to design programs to meet these needs, enforce the health laws of the State of Maryland and local government, and to direct the Worcester County Health Department.
Ms. Goeller is a Registered Nurse having graduated from the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing. She completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Maryland, School of Nursing. Ms. Goeller is a 2001 graduate of the Mid Atlantic Public Health Leadership Institute and a recipient of the Maryland Rural Health Association Presidential Award in 1999.

Jeffrey Greenwood, M.D.
Dr. Greenwood is board certified by the American College of Emergency Physicians and president of Emergency Services Associates. Greenwood is an emergency medicine physician employed by Emergency Service Association and serves as Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Atlantic General Hospital. Dr. Greenwood received his bachelors of Science from Salisbury University and his Doctorate from University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Greenwood serves on the board of directors with the bank of Ocean City, and is the president of Emergency Service Associates. |

Liz Gregory
Liz Gregory is a CPA with ES Gregory & Associates, LLC. She is a member of the AICPA, MAPCA, DE Society of CPS, NACVA, and the Fenwick Island Lions Club. She and her husband, Scott, moved to Ocean City more than 25 years ago, raised their two sons and passed their love of the area on to them. |

Michael S. Guerrieri
Michael Guerrieri, Guerrieri Venture Partnership L.P., is also on the foundation boards at Salisbury University, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, and Wor-Wic Community College, as well as supporter of the Wellness Community. Michael, who grew up in Salisbury/Ocean City, graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in finance. After graduating, he worked for his family’s business, Showell Farms Inc., an integrated poultry company, until it was sold in 1995. Currently, his family office is located in Ocean City, Md. |

W. Todd Hershey
Todd Hershey serves as chairman of the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation, which he joined in 2000. Todd is a
graduate of Elon University and owns the Arby’s franchises in Salisbury. He also serves as the treasurer of the Eastern Shore advertising co-op for many of the Arby’s restaurants on the Shore. He is involved in the MAGI Fund, which supports the Joseph House Center and the Christian Shelter, and the Ducks Unlimited conservation group. Todd enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing, photography and traveling. He lives with his wife, Jennifer and four sons, Henry, Jackson, Oliver, and Oscar in West Ocean City. “I feel having a community hospital with excellent healthcare improves the quality of life for locals and visitors,” he said when he became chairman of the Foundation. “This is a cause that everyone will benefit from at some point, having 4 young boys our family has already benefitted from having a hospital five minutes away.” |

Michael James
Michael James manages the Carousel Resort Hotel and Condominium in Ocean City, Md. He enjoys the outdoors and the activities it offers, including sports, hunting and fishing. James and his wife, Marilyn, live in Ocean City and have four children. |

Harriet L. Johnson
Harriet graduated from nursing school at Jersey City Medical Center and continued her education at Seton Hall University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree. Johnson attended graduate school at Rutgers Graduate School of Education and received her Master of Science at Hunter College of the City University of New York. Harriet has served as an instructor at New Jersey State Hospital at Marlboro, Jersey City Medical Center Hospital School of Nursing, Hospital of Joint Disease, New York University Medical Center and Rutgers University College of Nursing. |

Garry Mumford
A former special investigator for the Worcester County State's Attorney's Office, Garry Mumford has served as assistant warden at the Worcester County Jail for the past seven years. He joined the Army after graduating from Salisbury State College with a bachelor's degree in social work, ending his tour as a military police investigator. Garry currently sits on the Worcester County Board of Education as well as the Board of Directors of Oasis Mininstries, Haven House. |
