Come join us...for our Eighteenth Annual Penguin Swim, held on New Year’s Day to benefit the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation. This is a RAIN or SHINE event – we'll get wet one way or the other!
The AGH Penguin Swim is a fun, annual event to raise funds to support our not-for-profit community hospital. Each year, hundreds of Penguins raise funds to help the hospital provide the excellent quality care you depend on for your family and friends. Your fundraising will enable Atlantic General Hospital to continue to provide that care.
The 2011 Atlantic General Hospital Penguin Swim had an estimated attendance of approximately 900 penguins and hundreds of spectators. We are hopeful for another record setting year in 2012; with New Year’s Day falling on a Sunday this year, there is no reason to not come on out and join in the fun!
Please join us at the Princess Royale in 2012 to celebrate the New Year with a “plunge” in the Atlantic Ocean at 91st Street at 1:00 PM on New Year’s Day. Registration and incentive pick-up for the 2012 Swim will begin at 11:30 AM in the Princess Royale atrium.
NEW THIS YEAR: pre-registration will be available at the Princess Royale from 2-4 PM the day before (New Year’s Eve). This is an excellent option for those who want to turn in their money & pick up their prizes ahead of time, PLUS you would be entered in a drawing for a 2-night stay in Ocean City.
Following the swim, please join us for the awards ceremony in the Princess Royale Atrium.
Everyone who raises a minimum of $25 will be eligible to win an incentive prize.
INCENTIVE PRIZES for the 2012 event:
$25: choice of a beanie style hat or a puffer penguin
$75: choice of penguin hat or a long-sleeved tee shirt
$150: choice of sweatshirt or beach towel
$250: choice of mini corn hole set or trunk organizer
Teams and individuals also compete for awards. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards are given to the highest fundraising teams and individuals. A NEW DIVISION was added this year for top fundraising individuals and teams 18 & under. The Costume Contest will continue again this year, so feel free to be creative!
